Doug Phillips Takes Over As Head Coach in 2020:
Doug Phillips, a native of nearby New Middletown, Ohio, was named the Head Football Coach at Youngstown State University in February. Phillips previously coached at Youngstown State as a graduate assistant in 1991 and 1992 for current YSU President Jim Tressel. Phillips becomes the eighth coach in school history. Phillips has nearly 25 years of football coaching experience, including six seasons at the FBS and FCS levels. He spent the past three seasons on the University of Cincinnati football staff. 

Program History
The Youngstown State Football program has won Four FCS National Championships. The Penguins won titles in 1991, 1993, 1994 and 1997. YSU also appeared in title games in 1992, 1999 and 2016. The Penguins also boast two Missouri Valley Football Conference titles, an Ohio Valley Conference crown and appearances in the Division I and II Championship Games.

President Has Football Background
For those that do not know, Youngstown State University’s School President, Jim Tressel, is a College Football Hall of Fame Inductee. Tressel coached the Penguins to four national titles and helped lead Ohio State to its first crown since 1968.

  YSU will provide parking to anyone that is participating in Football Camps this summer.
One vehicle per camper, M70 Lot only  (located along 5th Ave, across from Stambaugh Stadium).

Camps are open to any and all participants grades 9-12
